  • “Home is…”: a poetry series for homeless people in Brent

    Organised by the Brent Homeless User Group (B.HUG)

    Poetry Competition
    £200 worth of prizes will be awarded to best poet submitted
    £40 worth of prizes will be awarded to the best art work submitted

    Story Telling/Art and Crafts with Brent Library Service
    A joint interactive session for local parents and children, creating art work.

    Tuesday 1 April

    Meeting poet refugees - an intimate musical encounter with poets refugees living in London. With Ali Ahmed Rabi 'Seenyo’ (poet, song writer, playwright and director) accompanied by Dararamle, one of the most famous lute players and vocalists in Somali society, and Abdi Bahdoon (also known as Book of Rhymes) a young Somali poet and lyricist.

    Poetry and Performance Workshop with Chris Tutton

    Interactive session enabling participants to develop their ability to perform own work; offering individual and group attention, developing confidence and performance techniques as well as giving feedback and helping with presentation, preparation and choice of materials.

    Home is..... Summary Event

    Featuring open mic performances, the results of the poetry competition, and an art exhibition.
