  • Zena Edwards

Zena Edwards is a young black British poet and performer who is a rising star on the poetry scene.

Her work, focusing on the urban experience, has a piquant and mellifluous quality, with individualised rhythms of hip-hop and jazz. Muzik called it ‘humorous, peppery, potent’.

Inspired by her travels in Africa, Zena often accompanies her performances with mbira, kalimba and marimba (thumb pianos).
